ROVIA NAMES INDUSTRY VETERAN AND TRAVEL EVANGELIST JIM MENGE PRESIDENT

PLANO, Texas, Sep. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Rovia™, LLC,  award-winning travel and service provider for membership-based global travel, today announced Jim Menge has been named President, effective immediately.
 
Menge, a traveller by profession and by nature, and author of Business Evangelism: From Prospect to Customer for Life, has held leadership roles with some of the world's leading travel companies prior to joining Rovia. He was the Chief Marketing Officer of Silvercar, Inc. the Audi-exclusive car rental company, served in leadership roles at other diverse travel companies such as Viajanet, SilverRail, and was the Executive Vice President of Member Development at Virtuoso.
 
Menge was also the Travel Evangelist and Vice President of Technology Business Development at SABRE, the world's largest provider of air and hotel technologies, where the outcome of his development initiatives resulted in new products, services and major travel agency efficiencies. Previous to joining SABRE, Menge led the American Airlines Technology Product Marketing team, bringing Internet technologies to their travel distribution channels.

ROVIA TEAMS UP WITH TRAVEL INDUSTRY LEADERS TO "GIVE BACK" TO NYC NATIONAL PARKS

PLANO, Texas, Nov. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Representatives from Rovia™ joined forces with 300 travel industry leaders in an effort to give back and say “thank you” to three iconic national parks.

The event, “Tourism Cares for New York Harbor,” took place in New York City, where volunteers from 80 different travel companies spent the day cleaning and beautifying Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty and Liberty State Park.

Hosted by Tourism Cares, the non-profit, philanthropic arm of the travel and tourism industry, the volunteer day marked the final effort of a successful yearlong campaign. It was one of five events held in order to encourage travel industry leaders to help clean up and beautify U.S. national parks in honor of The National Park Service centennial year celebration.

“Future generations deserve to be able to enjoy these beautiful places, unfortunately The National Park Service simply cannot maintain it all on their own. It takes each of us to do a little bit to make a big difference,” said Rovia President Jim Menge. “Because of initiatives like this one, places like this will be here in the future, they’ll be clean, they’ll be safe and they’ll be places people want to go visit.”

Altogether, the day’s impact brought in a total of 1,800 hours of service at a value of approximately $48,000 to the state and national park staff, according to a recently released impact report.

Of that, volunteers mulched 60,000 cubic feet, protecting nearly 300 trees and planted 1,000 bulbs at Liberty State Park and Statue of Liberty. At Ellis Island, volunteers painted 648 feet of chain link fence and 78 posts, using more than 10 gallons of paint, properly preserved more than 2,000 historic roofing tiles and to help prepare for future flooding, volunteers helped to make approximately 200 sandbags.
